The Different States Of America Summed Up In One Pic Each

With millions of citizens, we are very aware of the fact that one photo cannot do justice to an entire state. These photos, however, perfectly encapsulate what each of the states of America vaguely represents. Take a look at the pictures and be the judge.

Alabama

We will start off with the south-side, where pickup trucks, butter, and corn fields prevail. That’s right, this is Alabama in America. If this photo gives you confusion, then you are probably from the North. This guy is in his ‘Bama gear eagerly waiting to chill on his redneck pool chair glowing with state-pride.

Arkansas in America is obviously known for giving hunting license when you are barely ready. And also, there is a common practice of sneaking away moonshine from dad’s liquor shelf and the curiosity to try tons of tobacco. The state residents are also well known for loving fried catfish and sweet tea. True right?

Alaska

The state of Alaska is in America which is completely red, white, and blue even though it is directly connected to Canada. You could even say it is mostly in white color due to the massive snowfall and chilly weather. The people here are known to have regular encounters with grizzly bears and moose on their way to the store. It is also clear that Sarah Palin jokes will forever live on.

 

Arizona

In extreme opposite to Alaska, the state of Arizona in America has a blazing hot weather. This state mostly consists of desert, rattlesnakes, and forest fires, right? Nope, not really. It is actually known for their hot sauce and their struggle to escape the heat during car rides. The state is home to The Grand Canyon n  and is a big tourist attraction.

California

California is very complicated to explain as the locals say SoCal and NorCal are two different worlds. The South consists of Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills. They love Starbucks and are usually always very stylish and good-looking. Up North, you have Yosemite, Joshua Tree, and the Silicon Valley. There is a craze for hiking around here. All of the residents in California have what is called the West Coast chill.

Rocky Mountain High is one thing that pretty much describes Colorado. Most of the people here have a very chilled-out vibe and most of the folks from Colorado have a little hippie spirit in them. Marijuana is legalized here proving how laid back they are. The Coloradans always go for hikes and camping trips due to the perfect environment it provides.

Connecticut

Connecticut is a rich state that is right beside New York City. The state is known for yachts, crew neck shirts and libertarian view of things. Since it is not a huge state, the people know one another quite well and it could actually turn out to be a nice thing. However, it goes to show that all of the elders would know about your business, literally.

 

Delaware

Delaware is famous for being the very first state and also for how it deals with goods. There are no taxes here. You could shop in this state and can go tax-free. The southern half of Delaware is called the “Slower and Lower” half. You heard that right. It is very laid back and they do practice a very slow-life. Florida homes the happiest place on Earth(Disney World. This state, however, has a history of the exact opposite of what it represents. Tourists from all over flood in Key West, Cubans in Miami, retired Jewish people in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, leaving the rest of the state to be a big red-neck haven. Many reports about alligators being found on the mainland have occurred.

Georgia

Southern hospitality is what Georgia represents with Atlanta being the heart of the business and the capital of this state. Atlanta has spawned multiple musical geniuses(Ray Charles, Outkast, etc). There is sleepy Savannah. This is a town straight out of the 18th century and still has all of its beauty and elegance, maintaining a quiet, slow-moving atmosphere. There are peaches, sweet tea, and barbecue almost everywhere.

Hawaii

Hawaii

Since Hawaii is an island, many people forget that it is actually a part of the United States. This state is volcano prone and is a cluster of tiny islands. Even though most of the islands (especially Waikiki and Honolulu) have a high tourist rate, Hawaii is full of rich culture separate from a flower necklace. Their traditional food, Poke, and Malasadas are delicious and their hula dance is captivating.

 

Idaho

The state of Idaho is not really known for much, except for potatoes. In Idaho, there is a lot of agricultural activities and farming happening. Most of the residents have a gun license and are avid hunters. The people are known to love staying secluded and private in this state.

Illinois

Chicago is famous but people often forget that it is in Illinois. Chicago is the cultural and business hub of the mid-west, however, in Illinois there is nothing much happening other than farming and agricultural practices. Other than Chicago, all the other parts of Illinois is the same. There is a southern style practiced elsewhere.

 

Indiana

The locals of Indiana are known as Hoosiers. The reason for this is unknown although many have tried to come up with an explanation. Not only the basketball team but everyone else in Indian has embraced this nickname. The locals are known for a few stuff. They follow a religion, even closing liquor stores on Sundays, grow a lot of corn and are extremely supportive of their state athletes.

This mid-western state is popular as a fly-over state. Cornfields and farms fill this state but Iowa has some culture to offer. Iowa City is actually like the Austin, Texas in the mid-west region. The natural landscape is phenomenal and hippies flood this state.

Kansas

The people of Kansas claim to own the fictional characters like Superman because Clark Kent was raised in Smallville, a fictional but rural area in Kansas state, and even The Wizard Of Oz’s Dorothy. This state is a very conservative state that is a firm believer if the Holy Bible and has doubts about the science of evolution still.

Kentucky

Kentucky

Kentucky is no doubt famous for the Colonel’s chicken (KFC). Kentucky is laden with bluegrass fields that are luscious, deep green type of grass that is pleasing to the eyes and soft to the touch. Kentucky also holds the annual Kentucky Derby, where the rich adorn huge hats while watching horses race.

 

Louisiana

Louisiana holds the yearly Mardi Gras celebration that is famous worldwide. This festival is heaven for people who love to see boobs and shiny beads whit alcohol everywhere. But Louisiana is also undoubtedly a die-hard Saints fan and also expert in southern home cooking. The birthplace of Jazz also produced many iconic musicians.

Maine

Maine

Maine is the place for seafood lovers where seafood is considered to be a fine dining experience. During the summer, the place is perfect for going hiking, fishing, and camping. Winter drives Maine to be the second snowiest state in the United States(obviously, since it’s so close to Canada).

Maryland

Maryland is situated just under the Mason-Dixon line (the line that divides the North from the South) but they do not associate themselves as Southerners. Marylanders are, however, very similar to their neighboring states in the north and west. Again, this state loves seafood with sports fans everywhere.

Massachusetts

Massachusetts has a very distinctive accent to themselves. The will always pronounce some words a little differently. Boston is the most popular city here and it is the home of the Red Sox. One of the most prestigious universities, Harvard is located here as well. Many actors have originated from the state of Massachusetts.

 

Michigan

Michigan has a confusing characteristic. People love to go fishing and hunting but then there are others like the famous rapper Eminem of 8-mile, Detroit! Michigan is a boiling pot of these two contrasts. The automobile companies are mostly set up here and all of the locals know their cities quite well so they never need to make use of a map.

 

Minnesota

People from Minnesota are known for two things: being extremely nice and also for their accent! The people who have come from this state will definitely be the most affectionate and good-hearted people you will ever find. Since they are neighbors to Canada, some could say they have learned their mannerisms and friendliness from them.

 

Mississippi

In school, we have all learned by-heart the spelling of this state. The people here are true Southerners and rightfully act so. It is situated in the Bible Belt, hence there are various churches along the road. This state has the highest rate of teens that are pregnant in the country. The Confederate flag is a sign of pride here and has sparked up many conflicts with other progressive states.

Missouri

In this state, the famous cities are Salt Lake City and Kansas City. There is a mixture of mid-western and southern lifestyle developed by the locals here. The state is also home to a ton of lumberjacks who love their pizzas and hunting is obviously their hobbies. These guys usually wear plaid shirts and carry guns.

Montana

Montana is not the place for vegans or vegetarians because there is meat everywhere. The locals adore hunting season much more than the holiday season and are experts in hunting and preparing their own meals. They are tough so harsh weathers are not a problem. It is home to the Yellowstone Park and National Glacier Park so the bad weather is fine.

Nebraska

Nebraska and corn. The people of Nebraska basically ass corn onto anything they eat. Why is there even an ice cream that is corn flavored in this state? They are also known to value their meat and their Kool-aid. Most of the locals take up jobs as truckers so this comes as no surprise.

 

Nevada

When you think of Nevada, you automatically think of Las Vegas. The locals consider visiting Las Vegas a tourist trap and many try to avoid this. Public intoxication is legal and there is 24/7 alcohol service so obviously, the people here know how to party. Nevada also has Lake Tahoe which is one of the main tourist spots.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire is incredibly enchanting during the season of autumn. Many tourists from within the country or outside come to this state to experience the change in leaf colors, filled up in their magic. This became so popular that the locals have named these tourists “Flatlanders” who have also come to see the mountains.

New Jersey

New Jersey can be dissected into two places even though it is small in size. It is divided into Central and North Jersey and South Jersey. The northern part is green and luscious where millionaires have mansions. South Jersey, on the other hand, is home to Jersey Shore and all that it entails, hairstyle and all.

New Mexico has a unique vibe to it and is next to Mexico. The state has the most abundant Native American heritage in the United States. The locals speak a mixture of English and Spanish called Spanglish, with an incredible love for green chilies. New Mexico is where you would want to visit if ever you want to see real-life cowboy doing his thing.

The Big Apple is home to Times Square, Broadway, and Madison Square Garden. New York is a massive plot of land where New York City occupies the very tail of the entire territory. There are suburbs and small rural areas like Albany and Buffalo in New York. The Mets and Yankee fans are always in debate here.

 

North Carolina

North Carolina is located in the south. They serve good barbecues and love to swim in the swimming holes. They adore biscuits and they have them for almost all their meals. Ashville is a very hippie state and therefore very different from the other parts of North Carolina.

 

North Dakota

This state is at the northernmost part of the country. They hold many similarities with Canadians as they are neighbors. People often get a little confused when they reach Canada as there is not much difference in their friendliness and politeness. The state loves Jesus. There is also a very large portion of people who are of Scandinavian descent.

 

Oklahoma

Oklahoma is a place where they deep fry all types of food. They even deep fry items like pickles, Oreos, butter, etc. Their weather is known to be unpredictable where the sun shines one minute and the rain comes the second. It is prone to tornadoes and hurricanes so they stay well prepared.

Ohio consists of Cincinnati, Cleveland, or Columbus, also called the big C’s. People from Ohio hold much pride for their 8 presidents and the 25 astronauts who were all born in the state. They love to put chili on top of noodles, candies, and even beer.

Oregon

People here are known to be a little cuckoo. It is flooded with hippies and hipsters dressed in gowns and lumberjack shirts. They absolutely love their bicycles and usually eat their own produce from their own gardens. There are Republicans and liberals roaming around this state. But one thing for sure is that the people her love to live life in the most natural way possible.

 

Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has Philly on a side, Pittsburg to the right-side, and Amish country right in the middle. Philadelphia is where the Declaration of Independence was signed where they love their cheese. Pittsburg, on the other hand, is the industrial city. Middle Pennsylvania homes the Pennsylvania Dutch, or the Amish. Such a weird mixture of different cultures right.

Rhode Island

Rhode Island is home to the Griffin family from Family Guy. Since the state is the smallest in the country, trips are usually very small coverage. The summer weather in Rhode Island is perfect for the beach but winter is very extreme. Their seafood is worth mentioning too.

 

South Carolina

Now we have South Carolina. The two states are quite similar but South Dakota does have its differences. They are known for their tea, biscuits and their barbecues. Since the state is located in the deeper end of the country there are multiple rebel flags and conservatives voicing their opinions in public. Fun, right?

South Dakota

South Dakota

South Dakota is where Mount Rushmore is located. The populations here is very low so there are not very many folks to see. Also, many buffaloes can be seen on the side of the roads so you can pretty much guess what kind of a state it is. They still maintain that they are better than North Dakota.

Tennessee

Tennessee is evidently the state that has a deep musical root where cowboys roam the land. You must have heard of the country songs that have been produced in Nashville. They are famous for their Tennessee whiskey and their excellent barbecues. As there are many red-neck, quite a few rebel flags and Bible teachings will be there in Tennessee.

Texas

“Everything’s bigger in Texas.” All of the constituents in this state like the buildings, the food and the personalities of the locals seem to be large than anywhere else in Texas. The love their freedom and adore their food. The state is filled with Republicans but you may also find laid-back hippies spread across the territory as well.

 

Utah

In Utah, if you are a Mormon, you get to have as many wives as you can or please. The men here don’t get that carried away though. However, the baby making is incredibly high in the state of Utah. Their tasting buds are quite peculiar as they enjoy dishes such as fry sauce and green jello with shredded carrots. How right?

 

Vermont

Vermont is the next best thing to get maple syrup from, if not from Canada. The locals here are unbelievably seen wearing just t-shirts in the middle of an extremely cold winters’ day having a creamy (an ice cream cone). They are fond of skinny dipping and also love their drinks: beer and hard cider.

 

Virginia

Virginia

Virginia is known as the gate between the North and the South regardless of the Mason-Dixon line. Known for the Civil War battles, the state has friendly people, wonderful beaches, and butterflies. The locals here conduct an annual Civil War reenactments where they dress up and performs skits very seriously.

Washington

The state is not an extension of Washington D.C. Washing state is situated on the top left portion of the United States and is just next to Canada. It shares a close resemblance to Oregon. This is a state filled with hippies and the environment is usually very creative and artistic including activities like composing, camping and smoking weed.

West Virginia

West Virginia

West Virginia is a state on its own and is not just the western part of Virginia. The locals here are referred to as “mountain people” and they enjoy the banjo and pepperoni rolls. They are usually very outdoorsy people who find enjoyment in swimming, kayaking, and hiking. The families here are usually very close and comfortable with one another.

Wisconsin

The locals of Wisconsin love cheese and their curds. It is, therefore, no surprise that they would even walk around public with Styrofoam blocks on top of their heads. They are expert in hunting and skinning deer and can be seen wearing camouflage patterns occasionally. It snows here but the people remain unbothered.

 

Wyoming

The people of Wyoming are said to raise on the outdoors so they obviously enjoy activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, or camping. Most of them are republicans so they are not really appreciative of the liberal Coloradan neighbors (called Greenies) joining their Grand Old Party state. They are supporters of the 2nd Amendment who love their whiskey strong.

Washington DC

D.C is technically not a state but a district which homes more than 650,000 people. There are patriotic and historical monuments everywhere in this district so obviously, the locals here are very nationalistic in their thinking and ways of living. The Whitehouse, the Capital Building, and the Lincoln Memorial are all located here but these are just tourist attractions.
